ACCOMMODATIONS:

Where is Silent Waters located?  How far is the villa from Montego Bay?

Silent Waters is 4.6 miles west of Montego Bay in Great River Private, which is adjacent to the North Coast Road five minutes east of Round Hill.

How far is Silent Waters from the airport?

The villa is 5.9 miles west of Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay (15-20 minute drive).  Airport transfers to and from the villa may be arranged through our Property Manager. Please see Transportation below for rates.

Is my group the only group that will occupy the property during our stay?

Yes, the property is rented to only one group at any given time to capture and maintain the integrity of the exclusive and private nature of the experience.

What is the maximum number of guests that can be accommodated at any given time?

Silent Waters can accommodate up to 20 guests at any given time.  The maximum number of guests occupying seven Guest Suites is 18 guests.  If the Owner's Villa is also rented, the maximum number of guests is 20.

Will each couple/family have their own Guest Suite?

Depending on the size of the group, up to 6 couples or families can be accommodated without sharing a Guest Suite.  If it is a larger group and there are several couples that are close, they may share Guest Suite #1 or Guest Suite #2 with another couple as these two suites have separate private upper and lower levels (a bathroom must be shared).

If we are not renting all of the Guest Suites, may we choose the Guest Suites that we want to occupy?  What Guest Suites are the nicest?

Yes, you may choose which of the five Guest Suites you would like to occupy.  Each Guest Suite is unique, with beautiful decor and breathtaking views; however, the selection is a matter of personal choice.  Guest Suites #1 and #2 have separate upper and lower levels for complete privacy.  For a couple, Guest Suite # 3 is all on one level and has glass doors that keep it extra cool in the off chance that air conditioning is ever required.  Guest Suite #4 offers an indoor and outdoor shower.  Guest Suites #4 and #5 are the best choice for families with small children as the lower levels are not completely closed off from the upper levels.  Please see Guest Suites for additional information, including floor plans.

Do you have a honeymoon suite?

Many couples rent the Owner’s Villa for their honeymoon where they can enjoy the ultimate in privacy and luxury.  This villa has its own infinity-edge swimming pool, living room, dining area, kitchen, bedroom, large dual indoor/outdoor shower, waterfall and sundeck.  The privacy gate located at the bottom of the beautifully landscaped walkway up to the Owner’s Villa provides the guests staying within with a “Do not disturb” signal. Please see Owner's Villa for additional information, including floor plan.

Are electrical adapters needed?

Electricity in Jamaica is 110V, 50 HZ (cycle).  The plugs are the same as in the U.S. (two-prong).  Therefore, adapters are not required for most electrical equipment.

Are laundry facilities available?

We do have laundry facilities on the premises.  The staff is happy to launder any clothing that you may want laundered free of charge.  Dry cleaning is not available on the property and we do not recommend any dry cleaning in Montego Bay as it is not up to the standards of dry cleaning in the U.S.

Are telephones available in the Guest Suites?

Yes, each suite has its own telephone with a Vonage line available for free international calls to the U.S. and Canada.  A cell phone is available with the purchase of a cell phone card purchased in denominations of $100 to $1,000 JA Dollars.  Skype is available on the computer in the Pavilion.

Is a computer and Internet access available?

A Windows computer with wireless Internet is located in the Pavilion for our guests.  If bringing a laptop computer, high-speed Internet service is available in each guest suite and WI-FI coverage is available throughout the property (except at the tennis court)..

Are the Guest Suites air-conditioned?

Yes, the sleeping areas of all of the Guest Suites are air-conditioned; however, air-conditioning is rarely required as cool breezes are normally present on this hilltop location.  Each Guest Suite also has a ceiling fan.

What type of security may we expect at the villa?

Silent Waters Villa is located within the gated Great River Private subdivision, which has security at the entrance gate 24/7. The entrance to the villa property is secured with its own electronic gates and a sophisticated electronic security and video system throughout the property. In addition, a night watchman patrols the property during the night.

ACCOMMODATING CHILDREN:

Are cribs, high chairs and playards available?

Yes, two cribs, five high chairs, booster seats and two Pack 'N Play Playards are available.  Please let us know in advance of your arrival if a crib will be required and we will arrange for the crib to be placed in the desired Guest Suite.

Are infant car seats available?

Forward facing children's car seats and booster seats may be rented when transportation is hired. The cost for rental of the car seats is USD 10 each for one way airport transfer (USD 20 for round trip) or USD 50 per week.

Are toys and games available for children?

FOOD AND BEVERAGE:

What are the meal plan options at the villa?

Guests may choose the Prepaid Gourmet Meal Plan or the Grocery Option. With either option we will work with you to determine the types of delicious meals you would like during your stay, as well as discuss any allergies and/or special dietary needs. Additional charges apply for cocktail parties and other guest-hosted events.

How is liquor and beverages handled at the villa?

Wine, liquor, soft drinks and bottled water must be purchased from Silent Waters' wine, liquor and beverage inventory. All beverages (and fresh fruit used at the bar) are charged separately and billed at the end of the stay.  We will set up a normal bar and add your special requests.  Items that need to be special ordered may be expensive due to high import duties on alcoholic beverages in Jamaica.  The bartender takes an inventory of the bar and the contact person of the group checks it over.  If a bottle of liquor is added to the bar the contact person will be notified.  We try to keep the contact person informed of the usage during the visit so there are no surprises when the bill is given at the end of the stay. (Note that Silent Waters will require a credit card from the contact person upon arrival which will be blocked for pre-authorization of estimated charges for beverages and other incidentals.)

What is the cost for wine, liquor, soft drinks and bottled water at the villa?

A price list is available upon request from our Property Manager or Bartender.  The guest is invoiced at the time of departure for the liquor and beverages consumed during their stay.  The bill may be paid upon departure by cash, Visa, MasterCard or American Express.

Is the water at the villa safe to drink?

Yes, the water at the villa is excellent.  The villa has a modern, sophisticated water treatment system where the water goes through a 25-micron filter, then a 5-micron filter and then a UV light making the water extremely safe to drink and with a very good neutral taste.  We strongly recommend drinking the villa's water as bottled water though readily available, is expensive to purchase in Jamaica compared to the USA.
