Jamaican Excursions

There is almost an infinite number of choices of Jamaican excursions and activities available to Silent Waters Villa guests. Most are offered through the Villa. Our Property Manager can easily arrange those activities that are not. Whether it's playing tennis on site, basking in the sun in our Olympic size infinity edge swimming pool overlooking the Caribbean Sea, or a wide variety of off-site activities that interest you, we can help you plan each glorious day. 

Exclusive Tryall Club Golf, Tennis and Beach Membership Access for Silent Waters' Guests!

We are pleased to offer our guests access to the Tryall Club during their stay through the owner’s Tryall Club Corporate Membership.  The Tryall Club is located about 15 minutes by car from Silent Waters Villa.  The Tryall Club, which is situated on 2,200 acres of land offers one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world and has been home to the Johnnie Walker World Championships, Mazda Championships, Jamaica Classic and Shell's Wonderful World of Golf and other PGA championship events.  Private lessons and workshops are offered by Tryall Club pros.  Membership includes access to the Beach and to the Beach Café and Bar which is a delightful lunch venue offering indoor and outdoor seating.  During the High Season the Beach Grill is open and offers beach delivery service together with drinks from the adjacent Rum Bar.  In the evening, guests may enjoy the Beach Barbeque which is hosted seasonally on Monday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m and features live Jamaican entertainment. On Thursday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. enjoy Reggae Night which features music, entertainment and crab racing.

Also available at the Tryall Club is the Hummingbird Kids Club, Internet room and the new Usain Bolt Games Room, a well-equipped gym, marked trails for jogging and tennis on one of the nine Nova Cushion courts.  Snorkeling, kayaking, Hobie Cat and Sunfish Sailing are complimentary and glass bottom boats, charter fishing, a boat to the reef and any captained craft is available for a fee. 

When it is time to relax, enjoy afternoon tea which is served on the veranda and terrace of the historic Great House, or browse at the commissary and boutique or the Gallery of West Indian Art where a host of Jamaican, Haitian and Cuban works and souvenirs can be found.

The Tryall Club requires all villa guests either staying at Tryall villas or having access under a corporate membership such as Silent Waters, who are visiting the Club to become Temporary Members.  The Temporary Membership Due (TMD) of US $26.00 per person per day (plus 15% service charge) is required for all guests 16 and over (guests 15 and younger are free) each time the Tryall Club is used. Guests must register at the Great House Main Office where a Temporary Membership identity card will be issued for each guest and a charge account will be set up.  If you plan to pay your charge account with a credit card, a hold will be placed on your provided credit card to cover this amount. Visa, MasterCard and AMEX are accepted. If you plan to pay for your charge account in cash at the end of your stay (if not using a credit card), a cash deposit will be required as a guarantee.

Tryall Club Dress Code and Rules:

Manager’s Cocktail Party: The dress code is casual elegance with collared shirts required for gentlemen.  No tank tops/merino shirts, jeans or shorts are to be worn at the Great House or Almond Beach Terrace during the Winter season.
Tennis: The Tryall Club enforces a pre-dominantly white dress code for tennis.  The shoe color is less important but if the soles of the shoes are black and will mark the courts, the shoes will not be allowed.
Golf: For men, collared shirts and Bermuda length shorts are required and for women, sleeveless tops with collar, along with skirts or shorts.  For men and women, spikeless golf shoes or sneakers are the required footwear.
Afternoon Tea and Happy Hour: Casual elegance is also required at Afternoon Tea and Happy Hour.  No tank tops/merino shirts, jeans or shorts.

Beaches and Parties Jamaican Style

If you are interested in leaving the serenity of Silent Waters for a walk along the beach, ocean water sports or if you are looking for an evening beach party, we can make arrangements for you at one of the local beaches. A number of beaches are located within a 10 - 15 minute drive from the villa.  

Dining and Nightlife

Of course the cuisine at Silent Waters Villa is superb! However, if you wish to experience a different taste of Jamaica, there is a wide variety of restaurants nearby.  For a night out, enjoy some live jazz at a local jazz club or dance to the Raggae music at Margueritaville.

Golf

If a round of golf intrigues you, we can make arrangements for you to play at one of the many World Class signature courses located in the Montego Bay area.

Horseback Riding

Enjoy riding throughout the jungle, mountains, rivers and on the beach while being guided by well-trained trail guides. 

Sightseeing

Jamaica is rich in history and unique places in which to relax and enjoy the beauty of the island.  Visit a plantation or one of the many Great Houses, stroll through gardens or enjoy a trip to one of the Falls.

Shopping

Take home a piece of Jamaican culture by shopping at one of the craft markets or specialty stores in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios or Negril.  Here you will find hand-crafted souvenirs, including wood statues, colorful clothing and woven goods, as well as fine home furnishings and Jamaican paintings.  Duty free shopping is also available.

Whether you are interested in a relaxing cruise, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, jet skiing, underwater tours or water slides, you will find it within a short distance from Silent Waters Villa.
